YSR offered money to ditch PJR, says VH

Senior Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao, who has shot into headlines by threatening to quit the party, if the high command makes firebrand leader A Revanth Reddy as PCC chief, is at it again.

On Monday, VH made yet another controversial comment against former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

He alleged that YSR had made a desperate attempt to separate him and former Congress Legislature Party leader late P Janardhan Reddy.

“YSR was aware that PJR was a stronger leader and might pose threat to his own leadership. PJR had a lot of friends in the Congress party and I was one among them. So, YSR want to isolate PJR by luring his friends,” VH said.

He alleged that YSR had offered him money or whatever he wanted, if he ditched PJR and joined his (YSR) camp.

“He tried to separate me and PJR by making such an offer, but I rejected him. Had I accepted YSR’s offer, I would have prospered a lot and earned a lot of money,” VH said.

The senior leader said as long as the Congress party existed in Telangana, nobody would forget PJR and his services to the people of Hyderabad.

“He fought a lot for providing drinking water to the citizens and got lakhs of people get housing. In fact, PJR was in the forefront for Telangana,” he said.
