Yadadri: Chinna Jeeyar out, Vizag seer in?

Vaishnavaite seer Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanjuna Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, who shot into fame with the inauguration of Statue of Equality, the 216-ft statue of saint Sri Ramanuja at his Muchintal ashram on the outskirts of Hyderabad, appears to be completely out of the radar of Telangana government led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The KCR government is learnt to have decided to completely set aside Chinna Jeeyar Swamy in all aspects, as was evident from the way the latter was ignored at the inauguration of the renovated ancient temple of Lord Narasimha Swamy on Yadadri about 70 km from Hyderabad.

He has also decided to change the name of “Yadadri” which was suggested by Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and revert to its old name “Yadagirigutta.” Now, even officials have started referring to the temple as Yadagirigutta temple.

Despite the temple being a Vaishnavaite temple, KCR has started inviting seers of other traditions. As part of that popular seer of Visakhapatnam Sarada Peetham Sri Swaroopanandendra Swamy came to the temple on Tuesday and said the temple was an abode of all gods – not just Vishnu incarnation of Lord Narasimha.

What is more, the invitation for Swaroopanandendra clearly referred to the place as Yadagirigutta, instead of Yadadri, as suggested by Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. And the Vizag seer went overboard to praise the chief minister for constructing such a magnificent temple.

“It is a great monument and KCR took up the construction like Sri Krishna Devarayala of Vijayanagara empire. Nobody on the earth can even think of such a massive construction. KCR deserves all praise,” he said.

Swaroopananendra went to the extent of describing KCR as the true Hindu.

“Many people claim themselves as representatives of Hinduism. But one won’t find a pious Hindu than KCR,” he said.

Taking an indirect dig at Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, the Visakhapatnam seer said temple were not the properties of a few preachers.

“They belong to all sections of people. It is not correct to discriminate temples in the name of Lord Shiva or Lord Vishnu,” he said.

Stating that people have been fighting in the name of gods, he reminded that Adi Sankaracharya had treated everybody equally.

“Yadagirigutta is an abode of all gods. I wish it should grow to the level of Tirumala temple soon,” the Vizag seer added.
