Sulking TRS MLA planning to quit post?

Senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi legislator Koneru Konappa representing Asifabad assembly constituency is said to be contemplating quitting the party.

The recent episode of Konappa’s brother Krishna Rao being arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman forest officer at Sarsala village in Kaghaznagar with sticks has tarnished his image, so much so that the police have started personally targeting the MLA and his brother.

What hurt Konappa very much was the way the TRS leadership remained unusually silent after the episode.

Apparently, TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao did not even call Konappa once to know the factual position, let alone coming to his rescue.

What is worse, KCR did not even give the appointment to the MLA when he came to Hyderabad.

He also reportedly asked the party leaders in the district to stay away from Konappa and not to involve him in any other activity.

The MLA suspects that minister for environment and forests A Indrakaran Reddy was behind the party leadership keeping him at bay. In fact, it was Reddy who brought Konappa into limelight and got him the MLA ticket in the past.

Both of them had contested on Bahujan Samaj Party ticket in 2014 and won the seats, before jumping into the TRS.

But after Reddy became the minister for a second successive term in the KCR cabinet, Konappa has been feeling insecure, say sources.

It is learnt Konappa has decided to quit the TRS and the assembly membership, as he was disgusted with the ill-treatment meted out from the TRS leadership.
