Telugu Desam Party MLA from Sattupalli in Khammam Sandra Venkata Veeraiah district is getting ready to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi sooner or later.
It was evident from the way Sandra lavished praises on TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the state assembly on Saturday.
He compared KCR with TDP founder president and former chief minister N T Rama Rao in administration and implementation of welfare schemes.
“NTR had won the hearts of poor people by implementing several welfare schemes. Similarly, KCR had won the appreciation of the people with his schemes, which brought him back to power for a second consecutive term with a huge majority. NTR had revolutionised administration by bringing in mandal system. Similarly, KCR has reorganised districts from 10 to 33,” he said.
Sandra has been keeping away from the TDP activities for quite some time. He did not even attend the BAC meeting in the assembly on behalf of the TDP.
He did not wear yellow shirt like his colleage Mecha Nageshwar Rao, while coming to the assembly.
He did not even take oath as the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Trust Board member as a result of which his membership was cancelled.
Sandra also met TRS president at Pragathi Bhavan soon after taking his oath as an MLA in the assembly.
“I will change the party after informing people of my constituency,” he said.
Though it was expected that Sandra would be given the cabinet berth, KCR did not entertain him and wanted him to join unconditionally, sources said.
