Revanth facing strong resistance in TPCC?

It looks like Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy is facing a stiff resistance from within the party for his candidature for PCC chief post.

Revanth’s aggressive approach in attacking the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi and his independent way of approach in fighting against the government is not being taken kindly by many of the party leaders who are still viewing him as an outsider in the party.

Moreover, they are of the view that Revanth Reddy, being an MP, is getting closer to the party high command in New Delhi and is lobbying for the PCC chief post.

Apparently, they are envious of his growing popularity in the people and the media and are not able to digest the way he grabbed the media attention by exposing the illegal construction of farmhouse of TRS working president K T Rama Rao.

On Tuesday, Sangareddy MLA and senior Congress leader T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy indirectly attacked Revanth saying one cannot become the PCC chief through lobbying with the high command.

“The party will suffer if the PCC chief post is given to lobbyists,” he said.

Jagga Reddy also demanded that present PCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy should be continued in the post till the next elections.

“Otherwise, whoever he suggests should be made PCC chief. As I understand, senior leaders like K Jana Reddy, G Chinna Reddy and Md Shabbir Ali are in the race for the PCC chief post,” the Sangareddy MLA said, without even mentioning the name of Revanth.

He also took an indirect dig at Revanth saying defecting from one party to another was unethical and the Congress party is no exception.

“Nobody has a right to talk about defections from the Congress to another party or vice versa,” he said.
