No PCC chief for Telangana in the near future?

No PCC chief for Telangana in the near future?

It looks like there is going to be a long wait, at least for a few more months, for the Congress party in the state to get a new president for Pradesh Congress Committee.

An indication to this effect is said to have come from New Delhi on Monday, when the Congress Working Committee met to discuss the present Covid-19 situation in the country and also the selection of Rahul Gandhi as the president of All India Congress Committee.

The CWC meeting deferred its decision to appoint the new AICC chief on the pretext of Coronavirus situation in the country. Though there were representations all over the country to anoint Rahul Gandhi as the party president, he is said to be still not ready to take up the post.

As a result, the selection of the PCC chief is also likely to be postponed indefinitely.

“In all probability, the PCC chief appointment will happen only after the appointment of new Congress president at the national level. It is unlikely to happen only after July,” a party source said.

At present, PCC working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy, senior MLC T Jeevan Reddy and Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy are the front runners for the TPCC chief post. The delay will definitely frustrate these aspirants.

Only god can save the Congress party in the country!
