It appears that Bharat Rashtra Samithi legislative council member and Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s desperate attempt to bridge the gap with her father, K Chandrasekhar Rao, has backfired.
Kavitha, who staged a dharna at Indira Park on June 4 in protest against the Justice Ghose Commission’s summons to KCR over the Kaleshwaram irregularities, tried to meet her father at his Erravelli farmhouse on Wednesday, ahead of his questioning.
She, along with her husband Anil Kumar, arrived at the farmhouse early but was reportedly not allowed inside. She waited near KCR’s room until he descended from the upper floor by lift.
At that time, KCR was preparing to appear before the Kaleshwaram Project Inquiry Commission.
During her visit, BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy met with an accident, and leaders at the farmhouse rushed to assist him. The injured MLA was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Around the same time, KCR came out of his room but did not greet or speak to Kavitha, leaving directly for BRKR Bhavan in his convoy.
Party sources said Kavitha greeted him with, "Good morning, Daddy," but KCR ignored her and left without saying a word.
A BRS leader later claimed that KCR didn’t speak to her because of the urgency to leave for the commission hearing.
“But this is a weak excuse. When other leaders were able to meet him and greet him, why was his own daughter not allowed to approach him?” another party leader questioned.
Shortly after KCR’s convoy departed, Kavitha also left for Hyderabad. She had initially planned to accompany her father to BRKR Bhavan but withdrew the plan.
This was Kavitha’s first visit to the farmhouse following recent controversies, making it a hot topic within BRS circles.
Additionally, the Telangana Jagruthi group has accused the BRS social media wing of discrimination against Kavitha.
They alleged that videos released showing KCR’s departure from the farmhouse were deliberately edited to exclude Kavitha, despite her being present.
