The Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to register a landslide victory in West Bengal, thereby cracking the hitherto tough “Bengal code” and establishing itself as a force, which can penetrate into any impregnable territory.
Now, the most talked about issue is whether the BJP will be able to replicate its expansion model in other non-traditional geographies, especially South India.
Though it could not achieve much success in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, analysts say the Bengal model can be replicated in Telangana in the coming days, if planned properly.
According to sources, Telangana may be the next target of the BJP, which considers this state as a gateway to South India, beyond Karnataka.
The party has already demonstrated its strength to some extent by winning eight assembly seats in the 2023 assembly elections and eight Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP also witnessed significant vote-share increase and cadre expansion – around 40 lakh members were added to its base since 2024, indicating organisational deepening.
However, the BJP still faces structural constraints such as weak conversion of vote share into assembly seats and limited dominance in rural Telangana, compared to strong players like the Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
Analysts say the BJP will have to rework its strategy with focus on developmental activities, apart from ideological mobilisation, especially in urban and semi-urban areas.
Against this backdrop, the upcoming visit of Narendra Modi to Hyderabad on May 10 is being viewed as the first step of the BJP towards conquering Telangana after West Bengal.
Modi will be launching key projects worth Rs 7,823 crore, with emphasis on infrastructure, highways and railways.
He would address a public rally at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, where he will give call to the people of Telangana to bless the BJP on the lines of West Bengal.
The BJP is treating Modi’s rally as a campaign launchpad for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections by mobilising women, youth and SC voters and large-scale cadre activation through bike rallies.
The message will be clear: BJP is the only alternative to Congress and BRS.
Urban Telangana; especially Hyderabad; is seen as the BJP’s most viable entry point, similar to how it used municipal and urban clusters in other states to build momentum, analysts said.

Antha package model lo party ammukovatam. TRS1 and TRS2 will join NDA before 2028 elections
Just like Congress sold party in package system, BJP forming NDA in package system
ur iq is that of pappu
Technically, YSRCP,DMK,TMC,NCP,SP are branch offices and subsidiaries of Congress party. TDP,TRS1,TRS2 Shivsena are subsidiaries of BJP
useless points by useless gorre fellow
1/3 of pawala party will be with BSP/SP, 1/3 will be in congress and 1/3 will be in BJP. diversification of portfolio!!
it seems true the only candidate that can run the country safely him in spite of his joking with TDP and his other political decisions. no alternative in the near future for India
Time for BJP to enter TG & KA
BRS or whatever it is going to be called, will need to have an understanding with BJP to get back to power. There is no other way. While Revanth is a decent CM, much better than the arrogant KCR, Khangress is not the way for Telangana to prosper.
