On social media, we often see many beautiful actresses who have not been active in films for a long time, yet continue to share their latest photoshoots.
A common assumption is that they are trying to stay visible and looking for new opportunities in the industry.
However, when asked why some of these actresses are not returning to films, a Tollywood PRO recently said that many of them were approached but declined, stating they are not interested in acting and are busy with other pursuits.
On further enquiry, he explained that some are exploring alternative sources of income.
According to him, while not all, a few have chosen high-paying private engagements with affluent international clients.
He said that while film roles offer remuneration depending on popularity and budget, some actresses feel they can earn equal or even higher amounts more easily through these avenues.
He added, “Some of these actresses are earning well by associating with multiple affluent individuals. They prefer this over dealing with film offers here and the unpleasant ‘commitment’ pressures they sometimes face from local directors and producers. Instead, they choose their international clientele and are paid well.”
He also mentioned that several actresses who stepped away from films 7 to 12 years ago have reportedly built significant wealth and invested in villas in major cities.
Ultimately, he said, these are personal choices and lifestyle preferences, and may not necessarily deserve judgment.
