YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy sought to know what crime former minister Mudragada had committed for being arrested illegally by the Chandrababu Naidu government.
Speaking to media, Jagan reminded that Mudragada was only asking Naidu to fulfil the promises the latter had made to Kapu community before elections. “Is it a crime? It is a social demand. How can you project it as a law and order issue and arrest the Kapu leader? This is nothing but diverting the attention of the people,” he said.
The YSRC president demanded a CBI inquiry into the Tuni violence to identify the real culprits behind the violence. He lashed out at Naidu for trying to gag the media to prevent coverage of Mudragada's protest.
While the pro-TDP media was forced not to cover the protest and arrest of Mudragada, neutral media like Sakshi was blacked out from transmitting the facts, he said. “This is a black day in the history of the state,” he said.
