Vamsi keeps everybody guessing!

Telugu Desam Party legislator from Gannavaram Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, who has resigned from his assembly membership and the primary membership of the party, is now keeping everybody guessing on his next moves.

Though Vamsi announced that he was quitting politics as well, YSR Congress party sources said it is more or less certain that he is going to join their party sooner or later. There is a talk that he might join the YSRC on November 3 or 4.

On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are also claiming that Vamsi, along with another senior TDP legislator and former minister Ganta Srinivas Rao would be joining the saffron party.

At the same time, the TDP leadership is making desperate attempts to prevail upon Vamsi to stay back in the party.

TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has deputed two of his senior party leaders Vallabhaneni Vamsi and Konakalla Narayana to hold talks with Vamsi so that he withdraws his resignation. Vamsi has returned to Gannavaram on Tuesday and might meet the two TDP leaders.

However, there is no word from Vamsi yet as to what his plans are. Though he had met YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday, there is no confirmation from him on his joining the YSRC.

Apparently, he is waiting for Jagan’s meeting with his rival in Gannavaram Yarlagadda Venkat Rao to happen, so that he would be able to know whether the YSRC chief wants him or Venkat Rao.

He knows that his entry into the party would mean Yarlagadda’s exit. So, if Jagan wants to retain Yarlagadda in the party, Vamsi might have to either stay back in the TDP or jump into the BJP.

In any case, Vamsi is unlikely to continue in the TDP as he has already made up his mind to quit the party. If he gets an MLC and patches up with Yarlagadda, he would join the YSRC. Otherwise, he would prefer the BJP!
