New Delhi: Sahara chief Subrata Roy, who was sent in judicial custody for a week in Delhi by the Supreme Court today, will be kept in high-security Tihar prison where he will sleep on the floor and eat jail food like an ordinary prisoner.
"Roy arrived at Tihar at about 8 p.m. and was sent for medical examination to the Tihar hospital. He will be lodged in Jail No.3," said an official of Tihar jail -- south Asia's largest prison.
"His medical condition is normal," the official added.
"He would be given tea and biscuits in the morning and treated like a normal person," said another official.
The Supreme Court Tuesday sent Roy and two directors of his company -- Ashok Roy Choudhary and Ravi Shankar Dubey -- to judicial custody till they present a concrete proposal to return the balance of Rs.19,000 crore they had collected from investors through optionally fully-convertible debentures.
