When a state divides into two there is a lot of process that takes place to change the whole administration system and primarily the identification.
Even a small name change from Madras to Chennai and Bombay to Mumbai involved extensive paperwork and government machinery. But in that process, huge revenues were earned by the governments.
Now, people of Telangana and residual AP states might experience some whiplash from the RTA in terms of the Vehicle registration.
As such, if AP will remain as AP and Telangana vehicles are changed from AP to TG it would be simple and there will be no burden on the people.
This would mean no extra work for RTA department also. But will the government be considerate enough to let go of a opportunity with good scope for earning? Will they leave it like that or will they say that fresh registrations have to be done? We have to wait and see what happens in both states.
Ultimately it is all about revenue for the government, kickbacks for officials and looting of the common public, that’s how the system works. Shameful but true!
