Former Minister Mopidevei Venkataramana, an accused in the Vanpic aspect of the disproportionate assets case against YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, was granted bail by a special CBI court on Monday. The former minister was arrested on May 25 last year.
The judge imposed two conditions for the grant of bail: Mopidevi is not to leave Hyderabad without the permission of the court and he should not make any attempt to influence witnesses or change the evidence.
These are the same bail conditions that are in force in case of Jagan as well.
The court asked Mopidevi to submit a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and two sureties of like sum towards execution of the bail. He is expected to come out of the Chanchalguda jail later on Monday evening.
Mopidevi had earlier dubbed the case against him as political vindictiveness. His close family members have quit the Congress and joined YSR Congress Party.
