Indian cricket team has lived up to the reputation of being the number one side in One Day Internationals (ODIs).
Virat Kohli and Co bagged the series against South Africa in South Africa after they beat the hosts by 73 runs in the fifth ODI at Port Elizabeth on Tuesday.
After cementing the numero uno spot in the ODI rankings, visitors have taken an unassailable 4-1 lead in the six-match series.
Indians have excelled in all the three departments i.e batting, bowling, and fielding, while Proteas have failed to emulate their good performance seen in the first two tests of this tour.
Amidst all this, the conversation about match-fixing (that old foe of cricket) has managed to raise its head in this series too.
After the series loss, two of the best bowlers in the Proteas squad - Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi - posted something cryptic on Twitter at almost the same time on February 14, later deleting the tweet.
"Money is the root of all evil so, they say..." wrote Rabada while Ngidi posted something similar, "Money is the root of ALL evil..." Their co-ordinated act raised a lot of suspicion among fans.
Given the circumstances, fan theory suggested that the cloud of match-fixing looms over the India vs South Africa series.
However, a clarification soon came from Rabada's side as he tweeted, "Myself and @NgidiLungi tweets had nothing to do with cricket," which was also retweeted by Ngidi.
Meanwhile, Rabada has been charged by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for using aggressive language and gestures during the 5th ODI match. As a result, he has been fined 15% of his match fee and given one demerit point.
According to an ICC release, after dismissing Shikhar Dhawan in the match, Rabada gestured at the Indian cricketer to go back to the dressing room.
