All hopes were on Union Minister Piyush Goyal to settle the ‘power’ crisis in Telangana.
But when asked about the issue, he sarcastically commented that KCR could have been busy while in Delhi and added that had KCR met him, he would have tried to resolve the problem.
Now, KCR met him and Goyal assured him of aiding Telangana.
However, later during a video conference with the media, Goyal made it clear that the Centre cannot resolve the power problem in Telangana, at least for now.
He said that the Centre will try and provide the 4000 megawatts as mentioned in the bifurcation plan.
Well, everything seems fine. But the Centre has assured to give more power to Andhra Pradesh, while it is clearly saying that it cannot give any power to Telangana.
Ironically, AP already has 24 hour power supply, so there is nothing that the Centre needs to do there.
One area where AP benefited over Telangana after bifurcation was ending up with excess power. But the Centre seems to be in no mood to indulge the KCR government and give power to Telangana.
