Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Andhra Pradesh should have more concern towards the people of the state who are suffering from unscientific bifurcation of the state.
However, they are showing more interest in protecting their national president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, than the interests of the state.
This was pointed out by Telugu Desam Party MLC and senior leader Babu Rajendra Prasad.
“The Centre is playing the role of Ravana of epic Ramayana, while the people of the state are fighting for their rights. At this stage, the state BJP leaders should take the side of the people like Vibheeshana did in Ramayana.
However, they are behaving like Saindhava of Mahabharata, stalling the progress of the state by defending the Centre,” Rajendra Prasad said.
He said the debate over injustice to AP in the Union budget is a contentious issue between the Central and state governments.
“Unfortunately, it is being projected as a war between the TDP and the BJP. The state BJP leaders have been targeting the TDP as if the latter was asking a personal favour. We are ready for the debate on the issue,” the TDP leader said.
Rajendra Prasad pointed out that the people of AP were contributing more than Rs 80,000 crore to the Centre’s exchequer in the form of taxes.
“But the Centre is spending all this money mostly on the northern states, ignoring Andhra Pradesh,” he alleged.
