Singapore’s minister Shanmugam visited Andhra Pradesh during his visit to India and has made some interesting revelations.
He said that Singapore did not happen in a day and that it took dedicated commitment of both people and government to realize the dream of Singapore. It meant a lot of sacrifices by the people and a lot of hard work, he said.
Shanmugam said that Andhra Pradesh was also an ideal place to emerge as a market with tremendous growth potential as it is much larger geographically when compared to Singapore.
If it took for a place smaller than Hyderabad 40 years to develop, wonder how many years Andhra Pradesh would take as it is much bigger? The highlight of his talk was his suggesting that people should be prepared to make sacrifices.
Now, that is totally in contrast to the tall promises by our local politicians who have said that they will waiver the burden by pumping in Rs 1 lakh crore.
So it remains to be seen how long it would take for Andhra Pradesh to become yet another Singapore.
