Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that the nuclear option is “not on the cards right now,” but warned that if it comes into play, even global onlookers will feel the impact, amid rising military tensions with India.
In an interview with Geo News, Asif warned that any escalation would have global consequences, not just regional.
“I am telling the world this won’t remain confined to the region — it could lead to wider destruction,” he said.
Asif added that Pakistan’s strategic choices are shrinking due to India’s actions but clarified that no meeting of the National Command Authority — the body overseeing nuclear weapons decisions — has been convened.
