YSR Achieved 'Real Development' Of Hyd

YSRCP has launched a pamphlet campaign in Hyderabad for GHMC polls. The pamphlets were circulated through newspapers in the entire city on Sunday.

The YSRCP in its one-page colourful pamphlet carrying pictures of late CM Y S Rajashekar Reddy, his wife Vijayamma, son and YSRCP chief YS Jagan, daughter Sharmila and Telangana YSRCP chief Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, highlighted the development programmes and schemes implemented by YSR during his tenure as CM from 2004 to 2009 for the development of Hyderabad as a Metropolitan City.

The pamphlet accused TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao of 'cheating public' with false claims on developing Hyderabad and said the 'real development' of Hyderabad was achieved during YSR regime.

"Just by building a hitech city building in Madhapur, Chandrababu claims to have developed Hyderabad. KCR, on the other hand says that he will build skyscrapers around Hussainsagar and make Hyderabad another Manhattan of US. Both are deceiving the public. In fact, the real development of Hyderabad was achieved during YSR regime, who had done it quietly without publicity blitz," the pamphlet said.

During YSR's regime, hundreds of new IT companies came up and employment of IT graduates increased from thousands to lakhs.

Hyderabad, which had the status of just a municipal corporation when YSR took over as CM, was transformed into Greater Hyderabad and then to HMDA by merging 849 surrounding villages in four neighbouring districts to an extent of 5,965 kilometres, the pamphlet added.

Highlighting the YSR's achievements, it said 160 kilometre long Outer Ring Road with Rs 3,000 crore, Shamshabad International Airport were built within five years, which now serve as growth engine for Hyderabad and Telangana.

Besides, 11.5 kilometre long PVNR Elevated Express Highway built by KCR has brought down journey time from city to Shamshabad airport from 2 hours to just 25 minutes besides saving commuters from traffic snarls.

Even the existing Rs 18,000 crore Hyderabad Metro Rail project was started by YSR to address traffic woes in Hyderabad by developing a world-class urban public transportation system.

The projects to bring Krishna and Godavari river water to Hyderabad to solve drinking water problem in Hyderabad was also launched by YSR.

The party urged GHMC voters to think over the 'real development' of Hyderabad achieved by YSR without indulging in publicity blitz unlike Naidu and KCR and vote for YSRCP to transform Hyderabad into a global city.
