Remember mandal revenue officer D Vanajakshi, who had daringly exposed the alleged illegal sand mining activities of Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Telugu Desam Party MLA from Denduluru in West Godavari district?
Vanajakshi was slapped and attacked by the MLA and his followers, when she tried to stop the illegal sand transportation at Musunur mandal in 2015.
But she fought back valiantly against the MLA without even scared of the death threats she had received. However, the MLA had the last laugh by getting her transferred ultimately.
The latest information is that Vanajakshi, who had gained tremendous support from women and other Dalit groups, is likely to fight the forthcoming assembly elections from Denduluru, against Chintamaneni.
Most likely, she would be contesting the elections on behalf of Jana Sena Party floated by power star Pawan Kalyan.
The Jana Sena chief announced that he would a strong woman against Chintamaneni in the coming elections. Apparently, he made the statement keeping Vanajakshi in view.
Pawan reportedly had a talk with her and is said to be trying to convince her. Since she had attained enough name in the district by daringly exposing the illegal activities of the MLA, she would not have any problem in contesting the polls on Jana Sena ticket.
Since Pawan has a lot of support in West Godavari, he would mobilise all his resources to get her elected from Denduluru. He seems to have taken the challenge thrown by Chintamaneni that Pawan should defeat him, if he had guts.
"This is the best way to teach him a lesson. If Chintamaneni is defeated by a woman, there is nothing more insulting to him," party sources said.
