Why is the BJP using the CBI to pursue Jagan?

The CBI is knocking on the doors of AP Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's close family members in connection with the murder of former minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy.

The CBI officials have picked up Jagan's uncle, Y S Bhaskara Reddy, and sent him to judicial remand in the Chanchalguda Central jail.

The CBI has summoned Jagan's cousin and Kadapa MP, Y S Avinash Reddy, for questioning and is likely to arrest him too.

Despite repeated allegations of a misleading investigation and missing key points in the murder, including a letter found by Viveka's body, the CBI is pursuing the case.

Avinash Reddy has also alleged that the CBI is investigating the case solely to frame him and absolve themselves of responsibility.

Whatever the reasons, the CBI seems intent on apprehending Avinash Reddy, who is a close cousin of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

One wonders why the CBI has suddenly picked up the pace in dealing with Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Sources suggest that BJP leaders had asked Jagan for open support in the Karnataka Assembly elections, which he refused. The BJP leaders also reportedly asked Jagan to campaign for the BJP in Karnataka, but he refused that as well.

In an attempt to exert pressure on Jagan to meet their political needs, the BJP is tightening the screws around him, according to sources.

If the reports are to be believed, Jagan Mohan Reddy is the kind of leader who does not compromise on his decisions and will not yield to pressure.

If that is the case, he would not have gone to jail when the Congress leadership pressured him.

Are the BJP leaders listening?
