Why Is Media Giving Hype To Lagadapati?

Why Is Media Giving Hype To Lagadapati?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao and his son K T Rama Rao do not tolerate any negative report against them or their party.

They tend to believe that whatever they say is absolutely true and if there is any negative report about them in the media, they dub the media as anti-Telangana. They don’t believe in the concept that there will be voices of dissent in a democratic set-up.

So, they also want the people to believe that any anti-report against them is nothing but a conspiracy against Telangana.

So, when former Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal came out with his own exit poll predicting an edge to Maha Kootami over the TRS in the assembly elections and the media gave it a wide coverage, KTR became very angry.

“I don’t know why media is giving undue importance to Lagadapati and his survey, which is against the feelings of Telangana,” he said.

Stating that Lagadapati’s survey lacked any substance, KTR said the former MP probably did not understand what he himself had said to the media earlier.

“Unnecessarily media is creating a hype around the survey done by Lagadapati and nobody is ready to believe in his fictitious stories,” he quipped.

He recalled that Lagadapati had to withdraw permanently from active politics for saying that he would quit politics if Telangana state would become a reality.

“He is going to face the same situation again, as he is going to be proved wrong in the next few hours,” he said.

While there is nothing wrong in opposing Lagadapati survey, it was surprising that KTR is finding fault with the media for publishing it.

One wonders why he did not make a similar comment for publishing the surveys of other national agencies which predicted the TRS victory.

And the same KTR had sought Lagadapati’s help in conducting a pre-election survey and chatted with the latter on his mobile. But nobody is supposed to ask him about the same!
