Weak Oppn Makes It Easy For TRS In Warangal

Though there has been growing discontent among the people of Telangana against the K Chandrasekhara Rao government, the weaker opposition is making things easy for the ruling TRS in the Warangal Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress has selected the candidature of former Warangal MP Siricilla Rajaiah, who had lost to the TRS in the last Lok Sabha elections by over 3.5 lakh votes.

He had a bad name during his stint as the MP and so, people might not prefer to vote for him again.

The BJP has so far failed to select its candidate and the Telugu Desam Party leaders in Warangal, who are upset with the party leadership for leaving the seat to the BJP, are unlikely to cooperate with the ally.

The YSR Congress party is also fielding its candidate, who would only be splitting the anti-TRS votes, thereby indirectly helping the TRS.

So is the case with the Left parties, which would only play spoilsport with the Congress chances. Thus, there is every possibility that the TRS candidate would scrape through in the elections, even with a reduced margin.
