Vangaveeti Radha: In No Man's Land

Vangaveeti Radha: In No Man's Land

As expected, Vangaveeti Radha Krishna quit the YSRCP and said he would announce his future course of action.

The clash between Radha and the YSRCP leadership was over the Vijayawada Central ticket.

While Radha wants the ticket for Vijayawada Central, it has reportedly been promised to Malladi Vishnu by Jagan.

Also, at the Brahmins meeting with Jagan in Visakhapatnam, Jagan is believed to have promised the elders of the Brahmin community that he will field Vishnu from Central.

Jagan wants Radha to contest for Parliament from Machilipatnam, something that Radha is not keen on.

However, Jagan’s decision is based on field surveys which predicted better chances for Malladi Vishnu rather than Radha who lost twice from this constituency in the past.

It’s not just the act that Vishnu is a close friend of Jagan and a loyal YSR man. In fact, when Vishnu’s mother passed away, Jagan personally visited him and offered his condolences. This was in the early days when Jagan was on the verge of quitting the Congress.

As for Radhakrishna, he is quite an amiable person but his ego is preventing him from witnessing the ground reality.

As the son of Vangaveeti Ranga, Radha expects to be given preferential treatment but political parties base their judgement on results and not legacy alone.

Radha losing on Praja Rajyam and YSRCP ticket twice in the past does not do his aspirations any good. But he is still respected because he is the son of Ranga.

There are two options for Radha now: TDP and Jana Sena. Ironically, even the TDP seems to have suggested to Radha that he contest for Parliament seat from Machilipatnam where there is a large segment of Kapu voters.

But, will Radha join the Party that was allegedly responsible for his father’s murder?

As for the Jana Sena, Radha has not got any call from Pawan Kalyan till date. They had sailed together earlier in Praja Rajyam when Radha and Pawan worked actively for Yuva Rajyam but things cooled down between them after that.

As an individual, Radha has quite a good reputation but politically, he has been making some unwise moves and lacking in stability.

He has been in Congress, Praja Rajyam and YSRCP. Now, it will be TDP or Jana Sena. The only constant is the fact that he is Ranga’s son.

Will that be enough?
