Uttam To Be First Target, If KCR Returns!

Uttam To Be First Target, If KCR Returns!

The way Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made a threatening statement that he would not let his opponents go scot free once his party comes back to power for a second term in December, clearly indicated that he is going to target some select Congress leaders.

He declared that his government, in its second stint, would prosecute the Congress leaders who had indulged in large scale corruption during the previous Congress regime before 2014.

Apparently, KCR was referring to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who had faced allegations of corruption in the Indiramma Housing Scheme during his tenure as state housing minister between 2009 and 2014.

Though the Anti-Corruption Bureau report was ready in this regard, KCR did not take action against Uttam, as it would lead to the allegations that the TRS government was witch-hunting the Congress leaders selectively.

Already, the Income Tax raids on Revanth Reddy and Gandra Venkatramana Reddy, sent wrong messages into the public that KCR was targeting his rivals with political vendetta.

Moreover, if Uttam is also targeted, it might lead to the talk that KCR was specifically targeting Reddy community and that might lead to TRS completely antagonising the Reddy community.

So, he has held back the probe against Uttam and if the TRS comes back to power, Uttam will be the first target of KCR, say the party sources.

Interestingly, KCR’s intimidating statements would only help the Congress party, as the party leaders would put in more serious efforts to defeat the TRS at least with the fear of being targeted by the TRS chief if he returns to power again!
