Vizagites have always called for the city to be constituted into a separate railway zone and politicians have always promised to take up this issue with the Center.
Yet, time and again, they have only flattered to deceive. This year with the BJP coming to power at the Center, and Hari Babu, AP BJP President winning from Vizag as MP apart from the presence of Venkayya Naidu, Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Sujana Chowdary in the Union Cabinet, one was hoping that the long standing request of the Vizagites would be realized this year.
Yet, the Railway authorities have clarified that the ‘Railway Board’ has not received any proposal for a separate railway zone for Vizag.
Neither can they get a special status, nor a separate railway zone or a respectable package from the Center. What purpose do these people serve?
