TV9 Sold Out To Telangana Biz Tycoon?

If the rumours going on in the media circles are to be believed, popular television news channel TV9 is being sold out very soon to a business tycoon from Telangana, who is closer to powers-that-be in the State.

According to the rumours, My Home Group headed by Jupalli Rameshwar Rao has offered to take over TV9 for a hefty amount which is undisclosed.

The deal will be finalised very soon. The channel CEO Ravi Prakash himself is learnt to have brokered the deal between channel promoter Srini Raju and Rameshwar Rao. The details are already doing rounds among a section of media through what’s up messages.

There were reports in the past about TV9 being sold to various promoters, including the Times of India group and Sony Network. However, none of these details materialised due to high valuation of the TV9 channels.

After the Telangana State formation, TV9 has lost its viewership to a large extent though it is still among the top 3 channels.

With Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao deciding to gain complete control over the media, he is learnt to have asked the My Home Group to take over TV9.

It is still not known whether this deal is only for Telugu channel or other regional channels of TV9. Watch out for further developments!
