Popular Telugu television channel TV9 is known for conducting heated debates and often instigating clashes between the participants in the debate to increase the viewership ratings.
On Tuesday night, it conducted a debate on dynasty politics.
The anchor, Rajinikanth who is notorious for fuelling the fire between the participants during the debates, was discussing on power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan’s comments against YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for craving for the chief minister’s post after the death of his father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
One of the participants Bandla Ganesh was defending Pawan’s comments and in the meantime, Rajinikanth called YSRC MLA R K Roja on the line.
She found fault with Ganesh for defending Pawan and said the latter was only basking in the glory of his brother Chiranjeevi. This led to heated argument between Ganesh and Roja.
While Roja asked Ganesh to mind his language and learnt to be patient, the latter made some sarcastic comments against Roja.
He said Roja was known for her “golden leg” which caused the death of YSR. “Please be with Jagan garu. Your golden leg will help him, too,” he commented.
An enraged Roja shouted at Ganesh saying she would break his teeth. And Ganesh, too, reacted in the same way saying he would also break her teeth and kick her out.
Rajinikanth enjoyed the show for a minute and then disconnected Roja’s phone connection, saying TV9 will not allow usage of such unparliamentary language in the debates.
But one fails to understand why TV9 retelecast it again on Wednesday, if not for cheap publicity!
