Just two days are left for the commencement of nomination process in Telangana, but actor and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan says he is yet to decide on fielding his party candidates in Telangana elections.
He told media on the occasion of joining of former Congress minister Pasupuleti Balaraju into Jana Sena on Saturday that he had not taken any decision on whether or not to contest the forthcoming assembly elections in Telangana.
“If the elections were to be held as per the schedule in 2019, our party would have contested for 23 assembly and three Lok Sabha seats. But now, the time is less; so, we are not in a position to take any decision,” he said.
This explanation appears to be very silly, as it was more than two months ago that Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao dissolved the state assembly paving way for early elections.
In fact, soon after KCR took the decision, Pawan held hectic deliberations with his party leaders and even postponed his tour in Godavari districts.
But now, he says time is very less. For any political party, two months is a very big time to take a plunge into elections, identify the right candidates and make them contest.
What is more silly is that when some leaders proposed that they would contest the Telangana elections as independents and asked him to announce that Jana Sena was supporting them, Pawan did not give any such assurance.
“Let me think about it and take a decision,” he said.
Obviously, Pawan Kalyan wants to support the TRS in the elections and he does not want to make any comment against KCR or his family. But he has no guts to say it in the open!
