Despite several preventive measures being taken by the Andhra Pradesh government, Coronavirus has been creating havoc among politicians in the state.
The virus, which has already taken the lives of several leaders including YSRC MP from Tirupati Balli Durgaprasada Rao, TDP former MLA D K Satyaprabha and another former legislator Y T Raja and others, is affecting many other politicians.
According to latest reports, Telugu Desam Party’s legislative council member Bachula Arjunudu was attacked by Coronavirus for a second time and his condition turned critical on Thursday.
He developed breathing problems and party president N Chandrababu Naidu made quick arrangements to shift him to Hyderabad for better treatment. The TDP leaders, who moved closely with him, are now worried.
Naidu blamed it on assembly speaker Tammineni Sitaram for not enforcing preventive measures for Covid-19, posing a serious risk to all the MLAs and the MLCs who were attending the current session in the House premises.
He pointed out that YSRC MLA Karumuri Nageswara Rao, who had taken active part in the assembly sessions and spoke in the mike for a long time, had tested positive for Covid-19 and asked all his party leaders to go for self-quarantine.
“Home Minister M Sucharita attended a meeting with the infected MLA but still she came to the assembly and did not bother to wear a face mask. Almost all the YSRC MLAs and MLCs are also not wearing masks or observing social distance in utter disregard for the general health of everyone,” he criticised.
