Telangana Telugu Desam Party legislator from Kodangal A Revanth Reddy has been completely isolated in the party.
Of the three TDP MLAs in the assembly, two MLAs ignored his call for the TD legislature party meeting at the Assembly hall on Thursday. Only Revanth came to the TDLP, sat in an adjacent chair, instead of the TDLP leader’s chair and waited for the other two, who didn’t turn up.
On the other hand, Revanth received a rousing reception from the Congress party leaders, including K Jana Reddy and MLCs Shabbir Ali and Ponguleti Sudhakar on assembly premises. They hugged him and shook hands with him.
This move has drawn attention from a lot of people in the assembly, amidst reports of him switching his loyalties to Congress soon.
Revanth did not even attend the Business Advisory Committee meeting convened by the Speaker to decide the agenda for the winter session commencing on Thursday. He also did not attend the meeting of the Telangana TDP held at Hotel Golconda in the afternoon.
He chose not to clarify his stand on the matter and faulted Telangana TDP president L Ramana for not putting a stop to the comments being made against him by the Telugu Desam leaders.
Stating that his fight is against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Revanth Reddy said that he would soon give a clarification over the allegations leveled against him.
He said that it is a conspiracy of the party senior leaders to demotivate the cadre and added that all these gimmicks would affect the party badly.
“I want to give explanation only to party president N Chandrababu Naidu on his return. But, the TDP leaders here are trying to destroy the party much before that,” Revanth added.
