YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that Naidu increased the rates for sub-contracts on Polavaram because those companies given the sub-contracts were Chandrababu Naidu benami companies.
Referring to this BJP MLA, Vishnu Kumar Raju sought a clarification from Devineni Uma on the cost of Polavaram.
Angered at this, CBN stood up needlessly and said, “The BJP Member is asking for an explanation. Fine, I have no problem. We will entrust the project to the Central government. Let them complete the project.”
Ironically, when the Central government had wanted to take over complete responsibility for Polavaram, Naidu had refused.
He merely wanted them to finance the project whereas the State would complete it. So, one can safely surmise that his remarks in the Assembly were only said in anger. Surely, he doesn’t mean it.
