The by-election campaign in Jubilee Hills has drawn to a close, but what’s truly surprising is the silence of the man hailed as the architect of Telangana.
The very leader who promised to turn the state into a “Golden Telangana” has chosen not to utter a single word this time.
Once a fiery voice of Telangana pride and progress, the former two-time Chief Minister KCR has remained completely off the campaign trail.
His absence has become the loudest statement of this election by raising questions, speculations and even quiet disappointment among his supporters.
As the curtains fall on public campaigning this evening, party leaders are retreating behind the scenes for the next phase, the actual election on November 11.
Now everything is in the hands of the public. We need to see what unfolds on November 13 in the form of the election result.
If the BRS wins, they will claim that it happened despite KCR’s absence in campaign, proving his enduring aura and influence.
But if the party loses, the same crowds may say that things would have been different had KCR come out to campaign.
We’ll have to wait and see.
