Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has been in politics for over four decades and he has held several positions including that of Cabinet minister and BJP president.
Though he speaks eloquently before the media and in public, he has not been very comfortable in managing the media in favour of the party.
So, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave him the most important Information and Broadcasting portfolio that required constant rapport with media houses so as to build the image of the BJP in the next three years, Venkaiah has apparently felt a little uncomfortable.
For a man, who could control the entire Parliament in the capacity of Parliamentary Affairs, it may not be a tough job, but somehow, Venkaiah seems to have found it tricky.
That is perhaps why, he has chosen a senior journalist from Telangana as the consultant for I&B Ministry. The journalist, who had vast experience of working in Delhi and shifted to Hyderabad only last year, is now going back to Delhi to join the ministry and guide Venkaiah in dealing with the media.
He has to work out media strategies for the ministry besides working out a broad publicity campaign for the NDA government in the next three years.
