Firebrand former MLA and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president A Revanth Reddy is now the most sought-after leader in the party.
Apparently, the Congress high command has realized potential, after he singlehandedly made all the arrangements for UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s rally at Medchal on Friday last.
It was Revanth who was visible everywhere in the meeting – right from crowd management to transport arrangements. Sonia and Rahul personally witnessed how Revanth was getting huge response from the people.
From the very next day, Revanth has become a busy man. There were requests from at least 100 candidates of Maha Kootami, asking him to campaign in their respective constituencies, as they believed that his campaign would make a complete turnaround in their fortunes.
The high command also arranged a helicopter for him to tour from place to place and address as many meetings as possible.
Since Revanth’s victory in Kodangal is almost certain, he is happily obliging the request of the party to campaign for others.
He already covered Siriclla, Karimnagar, Jagitial and other constituencies in the last two days.
It may be mentioned that the Congress high command denied his request that he be made the chairman of PCC campaign committee in the past; instead, it made him PCC working president.
“Now, he is the star campaigner for the party. Actual campaigning committee chairman Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and star campaigner Vijayashanti are no more in the picture,” a party leader said.
