With Telangana Telugu Desam Party working president and Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy remaining tight-lipped over the allegations that he is going to join the Congress party sooner or later, loyalists of party president N Chandrababu Naidu have started mounting an attack him so as to hound him out of the party.
Former minister and senior Telangana TDP leader Mothkupalli Narsimhulu and another leader Aravind Kumar Goud described Revanth Reddy as a blackmailer and a betrayer of the TDP which gave him political life.
“He has cheated thousands of party workers by joining hands with the Congress leaders. He cannot get away just like that,” they said, speaking to media after the Telangana TDP politburo meeting.
They demanded that Revanth should be immediately suspended from the party to save it from further disaster.
“All these days, Revanth has been projecting himself as an undaunted leader, but he has been silently supporting the Congress party. Because of his leadership, the vote bank of the party has eroded considerably. Who gave him the right to talk to Rahul Gandhi?” they asked.
Other Telangana TDP leaders like L Ramana and Uma Madhava Reddy, who are loyal to Naidu, also questioned Revanth’s unilateral decision to join hands with the Congress party and his wild allegations against Seemandhra TDP leaders like Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Paritala Suneetha. They appealed to the TDP cadres in Telangana not to follow Revanth Reddy.
Interestingly, several TDP workers in Kodangal constituency are getting ready to join the TRS with Revanth deciding to sail with the Congress.
