Reddys Deserting TDP To Join YSRC!

Reddys Deserting TDP To Join YSRC!

As the elections to the Andhra Pradesh state assembly are fast approaching, there has been a clear polarization of castes in the state in support of different political parties.

While Telugu Desam Party is an obvious choice for the Kamma community, Kapus are consolidating behind Jana Sena Party.

The Reddy community, which was divided between the TDP and the YSRC in the past, is now gradually gravitating towards YSRC.

As a precursor to this caste polarization, senior TDP leader from Allagadda in Kurnool district Irigela Ram Pulla Reddy has quit the party and is all set to join the YSRC. Reddy held a meeting with his close aides and discussed his political future.

Apparently, he reportedly told the followers that he would shift loyalties to the YSRC, which has bright chances of coming to power.

Lack of due recognition in the TDP is said to be the reason for Reddy’s disappointment and the election season seems to presenting the leader an opportunity to air his concerns.

Similarly, another popular TDP leader from Anantapur and former MLA Gurunath Reddy also quit the TDP and joined YSR Congress party in the presence of party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at Palasa in Srikakulam district.

In the coming days, more Reddys are expected to shift loyalties to the YSRC, while Kapu leaders are inclining towards Jana Sena.
