Telugu Desam Party founder-president N T Rama Rao's daughter and former union minister Daggubati Purandeshwari is said to be feeling restless without any post or position in the Bharatiya Janata Party, which she had joined two and a half years ago.
Apparently, Purandeshwari had never felt so much left out when she was in the Congress party and she had enjoyed very good positions there. But after joining the BJP, she has lost all her recognition and when she goes to Delhi, nobody bothers to acknowledge her presence.
This is simply because of her anti-Chandrababu Naidu stand and she knows as long as the BJP has an alliance with the TDP, she would not get any prominence in the party or the Central government. At least, Chandrababu Naidu will not allow her to get any post or position.
Sources close to her said Purandeshwari is trying indirect methods to get prominence in the party. It is learnt she has, of late, come closer to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leadership, which is controlling the NDA government.
Through her RSS connections, she is said to be trying to bring pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to get a berth in the Central cabinet. If it is not possible, she would try for at least some prominent party post by pressurising party president Amit Shah.
If she becomes the BJP president of AP unit, she might emerge as a force to reckon with and create troubles for Naidu. Otherwise, she would try for All India BJP Mahila Morcha president, so that she can get bigger positions in future!
