Prashant effect: 26 YSRC MLAs to lose seats?

Prashant effect: 26 YSRC MLAs to lose seats?

YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s move to engage noted political strategist Prashant Kishor has turned out to be a nightmare for some party MLAs.

Prashant, who officially took charge as the party’s strategist for the next elections, had an interaction with the party MLAs, MPs and other senior functionaries a couple of days ago.

He told them that he would not fetch victory to the party but would only facilitate the party to achieve victory.

“My job is to provide you the blue print to win the elections and it is up to the party leadership to implement the strategies to win the elections,” he said.

Prashant reportedly told Jagan that there was a lot of complacence among several MLAs about the party’s victory in the next elections.

Except a few, most of them have lost contact with the people with an over-confidence that the anti-incumbency would fetch them victory in the elections.

“But, there are at least 26 MLAs, who would lose the elections because of their non-performance. They should not be given tickets next time,” Prashant suggested.

Jagan also told the party leaders that he would not hesitate to drop the non-performers and bring new faces in their places.

Though he did not name these non-performers, it has caused a lot of tension among the MLAs. May be it is a strategy to keep them on toes and make them deliver goods in the next two years. It could be a wakeup call!
