Polavaram to Vizag Steel Plant, KCR has a solution!

Polavaram to Vizag Steel Plant, KCR has a solution!

It appears Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has already started dreaming of becoming the Prime Minister of India sooner than later.

While admitting some Andhra leaders into the BRS at a meeting in Hyderabad on Monday, KCR made several promises pertaining to Andhra Pradesh as if he has already become the Prime Minister.

He said if the BRS gets into the national politics and conquers India, he would resolve contentious issues like Polavaram project completion. He also promised to prevent privatisation of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

“Modi wants to privatise the Vizag Steel Plant. Even if he does during his tenure, I will bring back into the public sector. He believes in privatisation and I believe in nationalisation,” he said.

The BJP pooh-poohed his ambitious plans. “KCR is losing track of his role as the elected chief minister of Telangana.

He is daydreaming that he is destined to be the Prime Minister of India,” BJP spokesperson K Krishnasagar Rao said.

He said it is preposterous to outline national executive decisions after ten days of renaming his party from TRS to BRS.

“The newly conceptualized party has yet to take baby steps, and CM KCR is already making lofty statements,” he criticised.

Rao said KCR has showcased no good governance in Telangana.

“When there is no structure and systems established for efficiency building in the government, where is the Telangana Model?” he asked.

The BJP leader pointed out that Telangana is in a dire financial mess and is surviving on excise and fuel sales revenues.

And KCR’s statement on disinvestment lacks policy understanding of ‘government has no business to be in business’ in a matured free economy, he said.

“It is a joke that KCR vows to buy back the disinvested companies, if his party is voted to power. He should stop daydreaming and focus on keeping Telangana’s financial situation on track instead,” Rao added.
