Pawan, Too, Followed Naidu?

Of late, power star and Jana Sena party president Pawan Kalyan has been attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party government in strongest words on various issues.

On the demonetisation issue, too, Pawan fired a series of salvos at the NDA government at the Centre for scrapping 500 and 1000 rupee notes without assessing the consequences.

He, particularly, targeted Reserve Bank of India governor Urjit Patel, holding him responsible for the unfortunate deaths of people standing in queues at ATMs and banks in their eagerness to withdraw cash.

“While innocent and helpless are dying standing in the lines stretching to kilometres, the scoundrels of first order are exchanging the plundered wealth of this nation – sitting in the comfort of their home,” he said.

In this regard, Pawan Kalyan seems to be following Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.

During the initial days of demonetisation, Pawan, too, supported demonetisation. Interacting with students of an engineering college at Gooty in Anantapur district on November 11, two days after demonetisation, Pawan strongly defended banning of high value currency, stating that the political parties were buying votes with big notes. The banning of 500 and 1000 rupee notes would remove black money from the country, he said then.

Naidu, too, first claimed credit for banning of 500/1000 rupee notes. Now, he is saying people did not appreciate demonetisation, as it was causing a lot of problems.

Pawan, too, is singing the same tune. Perhaps, YSR Congress party is the only party to maintain consistent stand in opposing demonetisation!
