NTV Chowdary sacked from Jubilee Hills society

In a significant development, media baron T Narendra Chowdary of popular television channel NTV has been sacked from the primary membership of the Jubilee Hills Cooperative Society on the charges of indulging in various irregularities in the society during his tenure.

The decision was taken at the general body meeting of the Jubilee Hills Cooperative House Building Society Limited on Sunday following a unanimous resolution. The meeting also decided to cancel the membership of Chowdary in the Jubulee Hills Club.

Along with Chowdary, the primary membership of four others – C V Rao, Murali Mukund, Hanumantha Rao and Kirali Rajeshwar Rao – was also cancelled and their club membership has also been revoked.

The action was supposedly taken as per Section 21 of the Telangana state cooperative act.

“For the first time in the last 30 years, a record number of more than 750 members attended the general body meeting and resolved unanimously to take action against the five accused,” society president B Ravindranath said.

It may be mentioned that in June 2021, the Jubilee Hills police registered a case against Narendra Chowdary, who was the former president of the Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Society and others in connection with the plot scam in the upmarket area.

Chowdary and others allegedly registered a plot in Jubilee Hills worth at least Rs 50 cr in the name of a person who allegedly impersonated a Non Resident Indian for a sale consideration of Rs 1.91 lakh and subsequently created a gift deed in the name of B Srihari.

Ravindranath alleged that the accused created forged and fabricated documents to ensure registration of the plot 30 years after it was allotted to one Sirisha who is now settled in United States.

“The registration was done by then office bearers in collusion with the sub registrar without any representation from the NRI and verifying the identity of the person,” he alleged.

Note from A. Murali Mukund, Secretary, Jubilee Hills cooperative Housing Society

The proceedings conducted by the president of Jubilee hill cooperative housing society expelling the members unilaterally is illegal and invalid .

Proper show cause notices are not given and opportunity not provided to any one.

Inquiry 51 against both the past and present committees is going on  and also cases pending in High court and Tribunal about several irregularities.

When such cases are present , it is not proper to expel members with a dictatorial approach .

The housing society  is bound by cooperative act and club is bound by a separate society act . Hence , the decisions of housing society is not binding on the club .

The decision to expel seems to be personally motivated and not abiding by the rules .

Because , i have exposed the irregularities committed by the present committee , they are taking vindictive action against me.
