No Assurance To Vangaveeti In TDP, Too?

As expected, prominent Kapu leader and former MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna resigned from YSR Congress party on Sunday in protest against the party’s decision to ignore his claim for the Vijayawada (central) seat.

He alleged that YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was sacrificing the interests of his party leaders in his eagerness to become the chief minister.

Now, Vangaveeti has two choices before him: either to join the Telugu Desam Party or Jana Sena.

It is learnt he is in touch with some senior TDP leaders who promised him to take up his proposal with party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

However, sitting TDP MLA from Vijayawada Central Bonda Umamaheshwara Rao is said to seriously opposing the entry of Vangaveeti.

He told media on Monday that Vangaveeti was welcome to join the TDP, but he should leave it to the high command as to which seat he would be given.

“There are already three sitting MLAs in all the three seats in Vijayawada. So, the party will take a call as to where Vangaveeti would fit in,” Bonda said, hinting that he is not prepared to sacrifice his seat for Vangaveeti.

This landed Radha is in a state of confusion. There is already pressure from his followers that he should join Jana Sena Party of actor Pawan Kalyan, but so far, Radha has not got any invitation from Pawan Kalyan.

Moreover, certain forces within Jana Sena were stalling his entry into the party.
