Naidu's Blame-Game Only To Cover Up Failure

Naidu's Blame-Game Only To Cover Up Failure

YSR Congress party on Friday accused the Chandrababu Naidu government of indulging in a blame game with the Centre on Polavaram project works only to cover up his failure in completing the project and find an escape route at the fag-end of his tenure.

Demanding a firm and categorical timeline for the completion of the multipurpose Polavaram project, YSR Congress senior leaders Mekapati Rajmohan Reddy, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and Botsa Satyanarayana said Naidu had taken over the national project from the Centre and now, he could not go back and shift the blame on to the Centre.

“There is no time for lame excuses and Naidu owes an explanation to the people of the state as to when he will complete the project, at what cost and who will bear the burden. He cannot enact any more dramas, as it was only last week that he had taken a busload of MLAs to Polavaram and given the impression that the project would be completed soon,” the YSRC leaders said.

They reminded that Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had categorically said it was Naidu who had asked for the Polavaram project and had taken over from the Centre though the State Reorganisation Act states that the Centre should complete it.

“The difference between a genuine leader and corrupt leader can be seen in this issue as YSR has cleared the project on many counts and had initiated the work while Naidu has taken over the project from the Centre for his nefarious means and when things did not go well he is searching for a way out,” they said.

On Naidu’s statement that he would take the all-party leaders to Delhi, the YSRC leaders said the Opposition was never taken into confidence on any issue and was branded as anti-development.

“This is a life and death issue and there is no way he can go back and there is no need for any turn around but the project should be completed by 2018 with a grace period of four months maximum failing which the people will not spare the ruling party,” they said.
