Naidu To Nominate Radhakrishna To RS?

If speculations doing rounds in the Telugu Desam Party circles are to be believed, party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is most likely to nominate his trusted lieutenant and promoter of media house Andhra Jyothy Vemuri Radhakrishna to Rajya Sabha.

According to party sources, Radhakrishna, who came to Amaravati on Tuesday to interview Naidu on the completion of the latter’s 40 years of political career, had got the assurance from Naidu for the Rajya Sabha nomination.

In return, Radhakrishna reportedly assured the TDP chief that he would mobilise all his media continent to work for the TDP in the 2019 elections.

In fact, Radhakrishna had tried for RS nomination in 2016 itself, but Naidu did not give him any commitment as he was under pressure from various sections.

He had to nominate T G Venkatesh and Sujana Chowdary and give the third seat to Union minister for commence and industry Suresh Prabhu as part of alliance with the BJP.

Now that the schedule for the Rajya Sabha elections has been announced last week, Radhakrishna approached Naidu well in advance and reserved his berth, say sources.

If Radhakrishna is given the RS seat, the TDP will be left with just one seat and Naidu has no option but to nominate another Kamma – C M Ramesh for the second term.

If Naidu wants to field the candidate for the third seat also with the help of defecting YSRC MLAs, then he will have the option of selecting another candidate from other community.
