Naidu jittery over Jagan padayatra in Chittoor?

The tremendous response YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has been getting for his “Praja Sankalpam Padayatra” in Chittoor district seems to have caused jitters in the Telugu Desam Party headed by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

According to party sources, Naidu has been closely monitoring the response to Jagan’s padayatra by obtaining reports from intelligence wing as well as from party leaders in the district.

Apparently, the feedback he has received was that people were evincing keen interest in listening to Jagan’s speeches.

Naidu held a teleconference with senior leaders of the TDP in Chittoor district on Sunday and took them to task for their laxity.

He warned them that under any circumstances, they should not allow Jagan to gain an upper hand in the district. He asked them to be more active and vigilant in the coming days.

The Chief Minister said that the party position in some constituencies was not encouraging and expressed his displeasure over party activities there.

“In view of the Assembly elections which are about a year ahead, the party leaders should motivate the cadres and take all government programmes to the public”, he advised.

When the leaders asked about the constituencies which the Chief Minister was mentioning, he said, they would be disclosed to them personally.
