MIM Not To Take Congress Bait!

MIM Not To Take Congress Bait!

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen has decided against extending support to the Maha Kootami to form the government in Telangana, if such a situation arises.

It was evident from the statement of MIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi who declared that his party would stand by Telangana Rashtra Samithi and its president K Chandrasekhar Rao in forming the next government.

“Insha Allah, he will form the next government on its own and Majlis will stand by him. This is our first step towards the larger goal of nation building..” Asad said in his tweet.

He also described KCR as the caretaker chief minister for present and next chief minister after the election results.

The MIM president came on his motor bike to Pragathi Bhavan at around 1.30 pm on Monday and gave a slip to the media waiting outside.

He met KCR and held discussions with him over the possibility of the TRS government formation after the election results to be declared on Tuesday.

There were reports earlier that the Congress high command had held backroom negotiations with the MIM president.

Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Ahmed Patel, who was the former advisor to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, is learnt to have contacted Owaisi and sought the latter’s support in the event of the Maha Kootami falls short of a few seats in forming the government in Telangana.

The MIM president, however, is not believing the Congress party. Especially, he does not have much regard for Congress president Rahul Gandhi and some other leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad, though he has all respects for Sonia.

He also does not want interference of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu in the Telangana affairs, as he had personal enmity with the latter.
