Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao might appear to be keeping a very low profile these days, but he is said to be active in Telangana than in Andhra Pradesh, from which he represents the party.
Sources in the Congress party said KVP has been playing the behind the screen role in Telangana, helping the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi indirectly.
Particularly, KVP is said to be very active in securing irrigation contractors to his followers like Megha Krishna Reddy, who had made big money through Jalayagnam projects during the Y S Rajasekhar Reddy regime.
Because of KVP’s lobbying, Krishna Reddy has been able to garner several packages in Mission Bhagiratha, sources said.
Similarly, My Home Group J Rameshwar Rao, who was also one of the biggest beneficiaries of the YSR government thanks to his proximity to KVP, is still maintaining the same relations.
The Congress MP, because of his caste connections with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is still steering the wheel in the irrigation and infrastructure contracts, of course without getting his name being disclosed, sources said.
