Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and Minister for Municipal Administration and IT K T Rama Rao is known for making bold statements in support of the Telangana government and also in getting works done from the officials.
He never loses any opportunity in publicising his government’s achievements. But one factor he is always scared of is the roads of Hyderabad. KTR said he was not afraid of anybody, except monsoon, because rains damage the reputation of his government.
“Just one heavy rain, Hyderabad will turn into a cesspool. And the government will be at the receiving end from the people,” KTR said the other day.
As Hyderabad started experiencing good rains in the last two days, KTR decided to swing into action even before the damage occurs.
He cancelled the leaves for employees working in GHMC, TS Transco and Metro Water Board till the completion of the monsoon season.
KTR has urged the employees to be on high alert in order to avert any untoward incidents.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in Hyderabad for the coming few days and the Minister has directed officials to personally supervise the relief work in monsoon-related calamities.
He also instructed to heads of all departments to be available for the public whenever there is a need.
